Match Results So Far
Match 1: Anvita Khammam Aces beat Palamuru Strikers by 20 runs
June 21, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
Palamuru won the toss and bowled first — and watched the Aces put on a clinic. Wafi Kachchhi smashed a 30-ball 60 (the season's first fifty), K. Himateja finished unbeaten on 59 off 24, and Anvita Khammam Aces racked up 237/5. Palamuru fought back hard through Vignesh Reddy's blazing 86 off 31, but fell short at 217/6. CV Milind's all-round captaincy — including the wicket of Pratheek Pawar — sealed the tournament's opening win.
Match 2: Pranava Ranga Reddy Risers beat Anurag Nalgonda Knights by 5 wickets
June 22, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
ANK posted 189/8 batting first. The Risers chased it down comfortably, getting home at 190/5 with 21 balls to spare — a statement win that shot them straight to the top of the table on NRR.
Match 3: Medak Falcons beat Warangal Warriors by 3 wickets
June 22 (Night), Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
The marquee clash of the round lived up to the hype. Tilak Varma's Medak Falcons chased down a stiff 258/7 from Mohammed Siraj's Warangal Warriors, getting there at 259/7 with 2 balls to spare — a 3-wicket win in a near-300-run shootout. Warangal will be gutted to lose despite posting 258 batting first.
Match 4: Hyderabad E-Champions beat Palamuru Strikers by 7 wickets
June 23, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
Palamuru were bowled out for 141, and the E-Champions cruised home at 147/3 in 15.4 overs — a comfortable 7-wicket win with 26 balls in hand. A second straight loss for Palamuru after the tournament-opener defeat to AKA.
Match 5: Pranava Ranga Reddy Risers beat Medak Falcons by 5 wickets
June 23 (Night), Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
Medak Falcons, fresh off their thriller win over Warangal, posted 164/8. The Risers chased it down at 167/5 in 18.2 overs, winning by 5 wickets with 10 balls remaining — their second win in two games, both via successful chases.
Match 6: Warangal Warriors beat Anvita Khammam Aces by 5 wickets
June 24, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
Warangal bounced back from their Match 3 heartbreak in style. Khammam set 202 batting first, but Harshit Choudhary's unbeaten 121 off 62 for the Warriors blew the chase open, taking them home at 208/5 with 7 balls remaining — Player of the Match for an innings that single-handedly won it.
Match 7: Anurag Nalgonda Knights beat Karimnagar Diamonds by 6 wickets (DLS method)
June 24 (Night), Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
Karimnagar Diamonds were bowled out for 130 in their full 20 overs. Rain intervened during the chase, reducing ANK's target via the DLS method, and Anurag Nalgonda Knights got home at 121/4 in 14 overs to pick up their first win of the season.
Match 8: Hyderabad E-Champions beat Pranava Ranga Reddy Risers by 6 wickets
June 25, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
PRR posted a competitive 195/4 in 20 overs, with Adhitya Javvaji (58 off 35) and Aravelly Avanish (53 off 29) leading the charge, while Pranav Varma was the pick of the bowlers with 2-27. But HEC had other plans — Abhirath Reddy's stunning 99 off 45 (Player of the Match) guided the E-Champions to 198/4 in just 18 overs, winning by 6 wickets with 12 balls to spare. HEC's second win moves them level on points with PRR.
Match 9: Palamuru Strikers beat Medak Falcons by 5 wickets
June 25 (Night), Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
Palamuru Strikers opted to bowl and kept Medak Falcons to 164/9 in 20 overs — Rishab Baslas taking 2-33 the bowling highlight. The chase looked tricky but R. Rayudu's unbeaten 54 off 42 (Player of the Match), combined with a handy 1-12 in 1 over, sealed a 5-wicket win in 17.5 overs for PS — their first win of the tournament.
How Net Run Rate (NRR) Works in TG20
When teams are level on points, NRR is the first tiebreaker, followed by head-to-head record.
What is NRR (Net Run Rate)?
Net Run Rate is the key tiebreaker used to separate teams that finish level on points in the TG20 points table.
NRR Formula:
NRR = (Total Runs Scored ÷ Total Overs Faced) − (Total Runs Conceded ÷ Total Overs Bowled)
In simple terms, it's the difference between a team's overall scoring rate and their overall conceding rate across all matches played in the tournament — not just one game.
In a 7-match round robin, a single big chase or a heavy defeat can swing NRR fast — worth tracking closely once the table tightens up around the playoff line.
Playoff Race: What It Takes to Qualify
Each franchise plays 7 league matches before the top four advance to an IPL-style knockout stage:
- Qualifier 1: 1st vs 2nd — winner goes straight to the Final
- Eliminator: 3rd vs 4th — loser is out
- Qualifier 2: Loser of Qualifier 1 vs winner of Eliminator
- Final: July 11/12, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal
In a 7-game season, 5 wins (10 points) is the rough benchmark for a safe top-four finish — though with all eight squads freshly assembled at the June 7 auction, expect upsets early on.
